The Stanford King Center on Global Development hosts the 19th Annual Conference on Indian Economic Policy on June 3 and 4. The conference brings together policy makers, academics, business experts and community members to discuss critical issues facing the Indian economy. This year’s conference focuses on priorities for the new government in India. As with earlier conferences, the program will feature a mix of academic papers and panel sessions combining business leaders and senior policy makers. Session topics will include agriculture, energy, health, media and politics, business and industry, and macro-economics.

The 19th Annual Conference on Indian Economic Policy abides by the Chatham House Rule. Participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed. This excludes the “Financial Sector” session on June 4. The “Financial Sector” session is entirely off-the-record, in that whatever is said by presenters, moderators, discussants, or attendees shall not be reported on or publicly broadcast beyond the conference. This includes use of social media.

Dr. Amit Kapoor shared his thoughts on The Digital Economy and Social Media where the presenter was Matt Gentzkow, Professor of Economics, Stanford University and the session was moderated by Arogyaswami Paulraj, Professor Emeritus, Electrical Engineering, Stanford University.
