Dr. Kapoor was invited to be a part of the Value Chains and Competitiveness, Expert Group Meeting organised by UNIDO in Vienna, Austria from September 23 – 25, 2009. As a part of the meet, Dr. Kapoor gave valuable insights into the use of the value chain for development and distributional justice. The competitiveness of the economy or a region is assessed by the growth of the private sector and the role it plays in poverty alleviation, employment generation and enterprise development. Currently, Dr. Kapoor is working with UNIDO on an independent project developing a Value Chain Diagnostic Tool for researchers and policy makers.
