Prior to his appointment with MDI, Dr. Kapoor was associated with IIM-Lucknow and also served as the Chief Economist with Datamonitor PLC. An accomplished academician, with a PhD in industrial economics and business strategy, he has received the ESSID and MIT DCA scholarships.
Dr. Kapoor has been a faculty and consultant in the domain of strategy, innovation and competitiveness. He was awarded the Ruth Greene Memorial Award by North American Case Research Association (NACRA) for writing the best case of the year. He has been invited by Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Law School and the World Economic Forum at its India Economic Summit and Asia Summit to present his views on various issues like strategy, outsourcing and economic development.
Dr. Kapoor has been a speaker at over 50 industry forums, international conferences and events across the globe. He has made contemporary contribution towards thought on dynamics of evolution of firms and impact of regulation on the performance of firms. His research interest lies in the fields of enhancing competitiveness, competitive advantage and leveraging technology for success.
In addition, he has written numerous cases, memos, reports and articles in academic journals and popular media publications like Images Retail, Outlook Business, Realty Plus, Economic Times, Business Standard, Hindu Business Line, etc. He has worked with organizations like Intel, PepsiCo and Airtel, and with the Governments of Turkey, Australia, Argentina and Colombia as part of his consulting assignments and speaking engagements.

Anurag is a B. Tech in Computer Sciences, a degree that he acquired before joining MDI, Gurgaon. In 2006, Anurag was awarded the “Most Distinguished Alumni of the Decade” award by the institute. He is passionate about magazines and is on the Executive Committee of the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM). Anurag wants to give back to the industry and his love for teaching comes into play in his position as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Futuristic Media Communication Centre (FMCC), a leading media and communication school in India.

Dr. Ketels holds a PhD (Economics) from the London School of Economics and further degrees from the Kiel Institute for World Economics and Cologne University. He has led cluster and competitiveness projects in many parts of the world, written widely on economic policy issues, and is a frequent speaker on competitiveness and strategy in Europe, North America and Asia.
He currently serves on the advisory boards of The Baltic Development Forum, the Center for Strategy and Competitiveness at the Universidad de los Andes, The ORKESTRA-Basque Competitiveness Institute and Invest in Sweden Agency. Dr. Ketels is a special advisor to the Asia Competitiveness Institute, a member of the selection committee for the Spitzencluster-Initiative launched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Germany), and is a member of the European Commission’s European Cluster Policy Group.

His last assignment was as the Country Manager, India with the Economist Intelligence Unit. His current job involves working with clients in supporting them in their strategic planning and strategy execution, and in helping them achieve their growth plans through performance enhancement at the organizational and individual levels.
